For each unit of credit, a minimum of three hours per week with one of the hours for class and two hours for studying/preparation outside of class is expected.
The mission of the Surgical Technology program is to provide competent, entry-level surgical technologists.

Demonstrate ability to prepare the operating room, supplies and instrumentation, equipment and furniture, self and staff, and the patient for a surgical case.
Demonstrate ability to perform appropriate postoperative case management duties in an organized manner.
Demonstrate ability to perform duties required as the surgical technologist in the assistant circulator role.
Perform decontamination of the OR environment and processes required for sterilization of instruments.
