Course Description

This course will instruct the student to prepare drawings and maps for this field of Engineering and Construction. Civil Engineering is anything that has to do with the preparation of land for construction projects. Students will also learn Surveying principals, distance and elevation measurement, location and direction, and legal land descriptions.

For each unit of credit, a minimum of three hours per week with one of the hours for class and two hours for studying/preparation outside of class is expected.

Methods of Assessment

Pre-tests and post tests: exercise problems, drawing evaluation, class participation.

  1. SCCC Outcomes #4 and #5 will be assessed and measured by solving assigned drawing problems, demonstration of skills necessary to successfully complete project exercise drawings, and a written test.
  2. SCCC Outcome #6 will be assessed and measured by demonstrating the ability to create, edit, and print Architectural floor plan and detail drawings on CAD
  3. SCCC Outcome #9 will be assessed by evaluation of finished drawings to current industry standards.
