This online course prepares students to apply knowledge of surgical anatomy, related pathophysiology, surgical indications, and operative procedures to plastic and reconstructive, oral and maxillofacial, genitourinary, cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, and neurological surgery. Students examine preoperative diagnostic procedures, patient preparation and positioning, equipment, instruments, supplies, surgical approaches and operative sequences, and postoperative considerations associated with these specialties. Employability skills related to surgical technology are also addressed. Course content aligns with the AST Core Curriculum for Surgical Technology, 7th Edition.

Successful completion of ST1124 Surgical Procedures I, ST1015 Principles and Practices of Surgical Technology, and ST1013 Principles and Practices of Surgical Technology Lab.
