For each unit of credit, a minimum of three hours per week with one of the hours for class and two hours for studying/preparation outside of class is expected.
The mission of the Surgical Technology program is to provide competent, entry-level surgical technologists.
Outcome #5: Demonstrate the ability to think critically by gathering facts, generating insights, analyzing data, and evaluating information.
Outcome #6: Exhibit skills in information and technological literacy.
The student will be able to discuss and successfully complete comprehensive review activities related to the Surgical Technologist Certifying Examination Content Outline.

The course will be delivered to students in a face-to-face format utilizing lecture, online quizzes, and interactive practice questions related to the content areas of the Surgical Technologist Certifying Examination Content Outline as published by the NBSTSA.
Several practices exams will be administered.
Internet, web-based course management platform, audiovisual media, textbooks, computer lab, online subscriptions.
SCCC Outcome 5 will be assessed and measured by class participation, quizzes and practice examinations.
SCCC Outcome 6 will be assessed and measured by class participation, quizzes and student score on the practice examinations.
