For each unit of credit, a minimum of three hours per week with one of the hours for class and two hours for studying/preparation outside of class is expected.

Students who complete this course will be able to at an introductory level:
- Understand the operation and troubleshooting for various types of A.C. electrical motors found in the HVAC industry.
- Demonstrate safety practices when working around electrical circuits
- Demonstrate the use of a multi meter
- Demonstrate the use of ohms law.
- Identify and describe the components in an HVAC control circuit
- Interpret electrical diagrams.
