For each unit of credit, a minimum of three hours per week with one of the hours for class and two hours for studying/preparation outside of class is expected.
The mission of the accounting program at Seward County Community College is to prepare students in the accounting discipline for occupational careers, transfer programs, continuing education, personal needs and/or other related business careers.
Outcome #1: Read with comprehension, be critical of what they read, and apply knowledge gained from their reading to broader issues of the day.

This course will cover partnership accounting and procedures and policies for corporate stock transactions. This course will also include issuance of installment bonds, and notes payable in accordance with GAAP. The student should also be able to prepare cash flow statements and analyze financial statements. The student should be prepared for transfer to institutions of higher education with an adequate background to be able to understand upper level accounting courses.

The methods of assessing the SCCC instructional outcomes 1, 4, 5, 6, & 9, general course outcomes and the specific course competencies include exams, graded homework assignments, internet activities, and a portfolio showing (1) analysis of a corporate annual report and (2) a graph of corporation market activity for the semester.
